Lake Grove, NY -  April 18, 2016 - QuickChek, a market leader in food services dedicated to serving its communities, has been named a sponsor of the 6th Precinct Cops Who Care charity bicycling tour to raise funds for local military veterans.

More than 300 riders, including the QuickChek ride team consisting of company executives and store personnel, will take part in either a 25-mile ride or a 50-mile ride on Sunday, April 24, 2016. The rides begin at the Port Jefferson Marina and tour through parts of the North Shore of Suffolk County.

Hope for the Warriors, a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the quality of life for post-9/11 service members, their families, and families of the fallen who have sustained physical and psychological wounds in the line of duty, will be the event’s main beneficiary.

The fresh convenience market chain will serve its coffee, which has been voted the Best in America in a national consumer survey, at the registration table and will supply riders with bottled water at stations throughout the route. Coca-Cola, a QuickChek vendor partner, will also donate bottles of Powerade sports drinks to riders throughout the route and at the finish line.

“We pride ourselves in being active members of the communities we serve and we’re pleased to continue to honor and support our local service members and their families who give so much of themselves,” said QuickChek CEO Dean Durling, whose company has 142 store locations throughout Long Island, the Hudson Valley and New Jersey.

QuickChek raised $134,000 for Hope for the Warriors in 2015 through in-store promotions and a charity golf outing and an additional $2,536 in January as part of its one-year anniversary celebration of its Lake Grove store.

The 6th CWC Warrior Ride is a natural fit for the company, which has raised millions of dollars to support a variety of causes benefiting children, families, and veterans. In addition to participating in the ride, the CWC Ride provides QuickChek with opportunity to showcase its dedication to customer service as well as branding opportunities as its logo will appear on the jersey of all bicycle riders.

QuickChek stores, such as the one in nearby Lake Grove, provide one-stop shopping, offering a wide variety of grocery and market items including fresh baked goods from an in-store bakery, an expansive craft beer selection, and excellent customer service provided by locally hired team members. All stores offer no-fee ATMs for additional added value to consumers. Modern by industry standards, the company maintains bright clean stores, well-lighted fuel stations and parking lots with wide, easy-to-use entrances and exits that add to a shopper’s convenience.

The 6th CWC Warrior Ride will be held Sunday, April 24 from 7:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. at the Port Jefferson Marina on West Broadway in Port Jefferson. At the conclusion of the ride there will be a complimentary barbecue that includes drinks, raffle prizes, local vendors and a DJ.
