SCPD, Town of Babylon and Wyandanch COTA To Host Community Easter Egg Hunt

The Suffolk County Police Department, Town of Babylon and members of the Wyandanch Council of Thought and Action (COTA*) will host their first-ever Community Easter ...

Suffolk County, NY - April 18, 2014 - The Suffolk County Police Department, Town of Babylon and members of the Wyandanch Council of Thought and Action (COTA*) will host their first-ever Community Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 19, in Wyandanch.

The egg hunt will be held at Wyandanch Park, located on Mount Avenue, from noon until 3 p.m. The event, which is open to children ages 2 to 12, will feature an egg hunt, a sack race and a free-throw contest. Prizes will be awarded including two bicycles.

“We are excited to be hosting our first-ever Easter egg hunt and looking forward to having children from our community participate in this event,” said Suffolk County Police Department Deputy Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis.

* COTA is a support group spearheaded by Deputy Police Commissioner Risco Mention-Lewis designed to decrease recidivism.  The goals of the support group are to assist individuals in becoming productive citizens of the community, to create a new social network with a moral voice and to become a visible positive grass roots movement to amplify the moral voice within the community.
