SCPD Crime Alert: Two Men Wanted for Riverhead Mugging

Riverhead, NY - April 18th, 2014 -  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Riverhead Police Department are seeking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying two men who assaulted and robbed a man in Riverhead earlier this week.

On Sunday, April 13, 2014, at approximately 12:45 p.m., two men robbed a male victim who was walking on Osborne Avenue near the Long Island Railroad Tracks.  The victim was then dragged to an area west of Marcy Avenue where he was physically assaulted.  The suspects fled on foot and were last seen near Pulaski Street.

The suspects are described as black males in their mid-30s with a medium build with short black hair.  One was wearing all black and the other was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or call the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500 Ext. 289. All calls will be kept confidential.
