Central Islip, NY - April 17, 2017 - “I am deeply saddened and extremely concerned over the tragic and brutal killing of 4 young men this week in what appears to be gang related violence. Two of these young men were our neighbors. 16-year-old Justin Llivicura of East Patchogue and 18-year-old Jorge Tigre of Bellport, had their whole lives ahead of them and to call this event tragic would be a serious understatement. The deaths of these young men have sent shockwaves through our community as many families are now worried about the safety of their loved ones.

Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini was right when he said that we…'are in the midst of a war'…with gangs. “Our communities and the futures of our children are at stake. It is imperative that we all…law enforcement, elected officials, school officials, parents and community members…work together in fighting this war.

“I am confident we will find the person or persons responsible for these heinous acts and bring them to justice swiftly. I am offering my assistance to local law enforcement, community members and the FBI, and would encourage anyone with information to contact the authorities immediately at 1-800-220-TIPS.”
