Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center Conducts Veterans Outreach Program at Suffolk County United Veterans

Thanks to the Northport Veterans Administration, on April 14, 2014 the John J. Lynch Vets Place shelter at Suffolk County United Veterans was the site for a Veterans Outreach program.

Yaphank, NY - April 16, 2014 - Thanks to the Northport Veterans Administration, on April 14, 2014 the John J. Lynch Vets Place shelter at Suffolk County United Veterans was the site for a Veterans Outreach program. Veterans from areas across Suffolk County, Long Island were greeted by the VA team who provided enrollment assistance, current VA Healthcare information for participants, new health programs for eligible Veterans, and a review of medical benefits and eligibility. Inside the mobile Medical Center, the medical staff conducted free physical exams for our U.S. Veterans.

“We are grateful to the Northport Veterans Administration for reaching out to our organization. The John J. Lynch Vets Place shelter provided an excellent location for this valuable service,” said Joanne Massimo, Director of Programs for Suffolk County United Veterans.

Suffolk County United Veterans, founded in 1989, serves the homeless and at-risk Veterans and their families of Suffolk County, Long Island, NY. Our organization operates eight sites of progressively-tiered housing in conjunction with a comprehensive range of programs and support services.
