Farmingdale High School’s “Robodalers” holds the tournament champions banner and award following their recent success at the 2017 VRC Southern New York State Championship. The team is headed to Kentucky to compete in the 2017 VEX Worlds - VEX Robotics Competition in late April.

Farmingdale, NY - April 11, 2017 - The Farmingdale School District proudly announced today that the Farmingdale High School Robotics Team, the “Robodalers”, has qualified to enter the 2017 VEX Worlds - VEX Robotics Competition. The team qualified for the world competition by defeating 39 other teams and receiving the “Build Award” and “Think Award” at the 2017 VRC Southern New York State Championship. The VEX international competition, presented by the Northrop Grumman Foundation, will take place April 19 through April 22, 2017 at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.
 
“Farmingdale High School’s Robotics Team is exceptionally passionate and dedicated—as evidenced by the team’s successful performance in the 2017 VRC Southern NY State Championship,” said John Lorentz, Superintendent of the Farmingdale School District. “The Farmingdale School District provides an environment of academic excellence for its students, and everyone in the District fully supports our ‘Robodalers’ as they reach ever greater heights.”
 
The 2017 VEX Worlds competition brings together top robotics teams from around the world that participated in the VEX IQ Challenge, VEX Robotics Competition and VEX U challenges. The purpose of VEX Worlds is to explore innovation through robotics, celebrate student accomplishments and encourage friendly competition among the world’s best robotics teams.
 
“Pushing the boundaries of technology and robotics is more important today than ever before, and we’re honored the ‘Robodalers’ received worldwide recognition,” said Farmingdale High School Principal Sam Thompson. “We wish them great success in the VEX Worlds competition.”
