Great Neck, NY - April 8th, 2016 - The Great Neck Water Pollution Control District (GNWPCD) recently invited New York Institute of Technology and North Shore High School students to tour the District’s facility at 236 East Shore Road, Great Neck, NY.
The facility is one of the most environmentally conscious wastewater treatment plants in the country.
Students viewed the wastewater treatment plant as a model for green infrastructure and sustainability for the future.

During the tour, GNWPCD Superintendent Christopher Murphy described ongoing eco-friendly projects, including the ultraviolet disinfection system, anaerobic digesters, micro turbine systems and the recently completed oxidation ditch.
