East Meadow, NY - April 8th, 2015 - The Seventh Squad reports an arrest for Falsely Reporting an Incident on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 9:15 P.M. in East Meadow.

According to detectives, on Monday, April 6, 2015 at 7:41 P.M. Andrew Denton, 17, of Sylvan Lane, East Meadow called 911 and falsely reported there was a man with a rifle walking down the trails of Brady Park in Massapequa. Several Seventh Precinct units along with the Bureau of Special Operations and Air Bureau were dispatched to the area for a search.  

The search lasted approximately 45 minutes. After an investigation, Denton was identified and located at his home on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 9:15 P.M. and subsequently placed under arrest. At the time of his arrest Denton was in possession of a gravity knife.

Denton is charged with Falsely Reporting an Incident 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree and will be arraigned on Wednesday, April 08, 2015 at First District Court in Hempstead.
