Cops: Man Flees Without Proceeds After Failed Robbery Attempt of Franklin Square Smoke Shop

NCPD are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in Franklin Square on Thursday, April 6.

West Islip, NY – April 7, 2017 – Fifth Squad detectives are investigating an attempted robbery that occurred in Franklin Square on Thursday, 04/06/17 at 7:36 P.M.
 
According to detectives, a male subject entered The Smoke Shop located at 774 Hempstead Tpke., approached the clerk and demanded money. The clerk did not comply and the subject fled the scene on foot westbound on Hempstead Tpke., and then north on Poppy Ave., without proceeds.
 
No injuries were reported.
 
The subject is described as a male white in his 30’s, approximately 5’5” tall, 120 lbs., thin build, wearing a black hooded sweat jacket, blue jeans, white sneakers and red/white/blue bandanna across his face. No further description is available.
