Deer Park Man Arrested for DWAI with 5 Year Old in Car in East Meadow

East Meadow, NY - April 6th, 2015 - The Nassau County Police report the details of a DWI arrest that occurred at 4:45am on Monday, April 06, 2015 in East Meadow.

According to Detectives, defendant James J. Calabrese, 38, of Livingston Street Deer Park was observed by Police officers driving a black colored 2004 Suzuki westbound on Hempstead Turnpike. Officers observed the defendant fail to signal and fail to maintain the traffic lane.

The Officers performed a vehicle and traffic stop and observed the defendant sitting in the driver’s seat, a female in the front passenger seat and a five year old female in the rear passenger seat. The investigation led to the arrest of the defendant and the vehicle was impounded.  Recovered in the vehicle were three packets of Suboxone.

The defendant is charged with Driving While Ability Impaired, Aggravated Driving Intox (with Child under 15years), three counts of Aggravated Unlicensed 1st Degree, Operation without Interlock Court Order, two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, and three traffic violations.

Defendant James J. Calabrese will be arraigned on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in First District Court 99 Main Street, Hempstead.
