Suffolk Authorities Investigating Attempted Kidnapping Incident in East Rockaway

East Rockaway, NY – April 4, 2017 - The Fourth Squad is investigating an Unlawful Imprisonment that occurred on Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11:28 a.m. in East Rockaway.
 
According to detectives, a male black subject approached a female victim, 83 as she was placing packages into her vehicle in the parking lot of Best Market located at 492 Atlantic Avenue. The subject told the victim he would put cart away.
 
The victim entered her vehicle and then the subject returns and enters the passenger’s side door.  When the victim attempted to exit the vehicle the subject grabbed her arm. The victim pulled her arm away, exited the vehicle and yelled for help. The subject fled the parking lot on foot towards Atlantic Avenue onto Ocean Avenue.  No injuries were reported.   
 
The subject is described as 5’7-5’10 tall, with facial hair, in his 30’s, wearing dark clothing and a dark baseball cap.
