Long Island’s Only Storytelling Show Features Award-Winning Performers Telling True Stories, With A Twist, Live Onstage in Port Jefferson

Port Jefferson, NY - April 5th, 2016 - (Mostly) TRUE THINGS, a monthly storytelling show that features true stories - with a twist - told live, without notes and the only one of its kind on Long Island will bring award-winning writer/performers Bob Brader and Toni Munna and Dawn Shedrick, CEO of JenTex Consulting in the Saturday April 23, 2016, 7 pm performance at The Performing Arts Studio, 224 E. Main St., Port Jefferson, NY.

This show has comedy, combined with compelling emotional experiences as well as a game that involves the audience. All the stories except one include carefully-crafted deceptions or “little white lies.” The audience has an opportunity to question the storytellers, then vote for the person who told the unvarnished truth.

Bob Brader is a writer/performer and actor whose solo storytelling shows - including Smoker, Spitting In The Face Of The Devil, and Circle -  have been performed at Fringe Festivals in Orlando, London, Montreal, San Francisco and New York, among many others. He was awarded the "Best Script" and "Best Encore" by the United Solo Theatre Festival in NY, "Best Show" at The Beat Arts In London, and "Pick Of The Fringe" at the Victoria Fringe Festival in Canada. Toni Munna has more than 30 years of acting and directing experience on stages across Long Island. Favorite roles include Bella in Lost In Yonkers and Dr. Livingston in Agnes of God. She organized and directed 7 productions of The Vagina Monologues to support organizations that work to end violence against women and girls. As the first Teeny Award coordinator, she helped develop the high school arts recognition program at East End Arts and ran it for 9 years.

It is still going strong and she helped Islip Arts develop a similar program.

Dawn Shedrick is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and CEO/founder of JenTex Consulting, a training company that provides continuing education, consulting and coaching services for social workers and mental health professionals.

Host/creator Jude Treder-Wolff is storyteller, singer/songwriter and writer/performer who is active in New York storytelling scene. With composer Wells Hanley she co-wrote the songs that set up each stage of the game in (mostly) TRUE THINGS. She has been featured onstage in the groundbreaking RISK! live storytelling show and podcast, and has told stories at The Moth in New York and Prose Of Pie in Tarrytown, NY and Talk Therapy in Astoria.

“Self-medicate with real-life therapist Jude Treder-Wolff. Expect the unexpected! And without the hourly rates!” wrote the New York Daily News about her comedy/cabaret show Jude Treder-Wolff’s Thursday Nite Psychotherapy Hour.

Her solo show Crazytown was selected  for the 2013 Midtown International Theater Festival, the 2012 Chicago and San Francisco Fringe Festivals and was performed at Actors Theatre Workshop, Broadway Comedy Club and The Pit-The Peoples Improv in New York, at the Charles B. Wang Center at Stonybrook University on Long Island and The Conservatory NJ in Trenton, NJ.
