Stony Brook, NY - March 28th, 2016 - Nora Ephron's son Jacob Bernstein and Miles Davis' family members Erin Davis, Vince Wilburn, JR, and Cheryl Davis will be Tom Needham's special guests on the Sounds of Film this Thursday, March 31st at 6:00 P.M. on WUSB.

New York Times journalist, Jacob Bernstein, is the son of writer/director Nora Ephron and acclaimed Watergate reporter, Carl Bernstein. He will be speaking with Tom Needham about his new HBO documentary Everything is Copy, Nora Ephron: Scripted and Unscripted.

The film tracks Nora's rise from the mailroom of Newsweek to being one of Hollywood's most successful writer/directors. Ephron is known for her work on Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally and You've Got Mail. Everything is Copy features interviews with Mike Nichols, Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Meryl Streep, as well as dramatic readings by Lena Dunham, Rita Wilson and Reese Witherspoon.

Jacob Bernstein said, "Everything is Copy means that everything that is sad today becomes a good story, if you learn how to tell it. My mother saw this as a metaphor for resilience. It is about learning to make yourself the hero, rather than the victim of the joke."

Also interviewed on the program are several members of Miles Davis' family including his children Erin and Cheryl and nephew Vince Wilburn, JR, who are all producers on the new film, Miles Ahead, directed by and starring Don Cheadle. The film paints a fascinating portrait of the artist, Miles Davis, and stars Ewan McGregor and Emayatzy Corinealdi. All three family members run Miles Davis Properties, LLC.

During the program, Erin and Vince, accomplished musicians themselves, discuss the movie, as well as their experiences of performing with Miles Davis.

Tom Needham states, "Miles Ahead is hypnotic and avoids many of the cliches of Hollywood bio-films. Don Cheadle's portrayal of Miles is mesmerizing."
