NCPD: Man Arrested in Farmingdale for Burglary

Farmingdale, NY - March 23, 2014 - Second Squad detectives report the arrest of a Farmingdale man on March 22, 2014 at 4:55 pm in Farmingdale.
 
According to detectives, while investigating a larceny that occurred on 07/23/2013 at  7:17 pm from Walgreens, 918 Main Street, Farmingdale, video surveillance captured Adam Halpern, 50, of 104 Glenn Court placing store items into a bag and leaving the store without paying for them.
 
While attempting to locate Halpern, two other cases were generated regarding Burglaries.
 
On 01/30/2014 at 3:35 am at Citgo, 209 Merritts Road, Farmingdale, Halpern, who pried open the front door and removed money from the stores cash register, was captured on the stores video surveillance.
 
Again on 01/30/2014 at 4:23 am at the 182 Candy Shop, 182 Merritts Road, Farmingdale, Halpern, who again pried open the front door, was captured on the stores video surveillance removing money from the cash register and also taking New York State scratch off lottery tickets.
 
In all the above incidents Halpern was identified in the videos by Precinct Officers from previous interactions with him.
 
On 03/22/2014, Halpern was located at his home and placed under arrest without incident. He is charged with two (2) counts of Burglary 3rd Degree, Petit Larceny and Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 03/23/2014.
