Southampton, NY - March 18, 2016 - On March 18, 2016, troopers from the Riverside Barracks were patrolling State Route 27 westbound east of exit 62 in the Town of Southampton. At approximately 1:45 a.m. they observed a vehicle driving westbound in the eastbound lanes. Troopers were able to stop the vehicle after it narrowly missed striking a vehicle which was eastbound on State Route 27. The operator, who was identified as John Amorusocusack, age 24, of Centereach, New York, was placed under arrest for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs.
The defendant was processed and held for morning arraignment.
