Rocky Point, NY – March 18, 2016 – The Consortium is a chance for local not-for-profits and community leaders to network with each other, elected town and county officials, as well as local school administrators.  This is also an opportunity for leading members of the community to learn more about North Shore Youth Council and the many programs and services that are offered.  
 
Guest speakers at the 2016 North Shore Youth Council Consortium will be: John Martin, Suffolk County Department of Health, “HIV/AIDS Awareness-Due to the Increased Intravenous Drug Use”; Dana Ellis, MHC “Social Skills Therapy Groups”; Peggy Ward, CASAC “Prevention Model of Rocky Point School District” and Amy Agnesini, Director of PE, Athletics, and Intramurals-Rocky Point School District “Drug Free Community Forum”. This meeting is open to community leaders at no cost. 
 
The Consortium will be held at 12 noon at the North Shore Youth Council building at 525 Rocky Point Landing in Rocky Point, on March 21st.
 
The North Shore Youth Council is a not-for-profit community based agency that offers comprehensive youth and family services and community education at little or no cost to the community.  The Council offers counseling services, job bank service, internship programs, positive alternatives for youth such as open mic and open gym nights, a youth advisory committee, summer recreation program, child care program, and many prevention, education, and intervention resources for substance abuse.
