Suspect Wanted for Assaulting Woman at Sayville LIRR Station

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who assaulted a woman in Sayville earlier this month.

Sayville, NY - March 18th, 2015 -  Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Fifth Precinct Crime Section officers are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who assaulted a woman in Sayville earlier this month.

On March 12, the suspect and the victim were on the same train when they both exited the Sayville Rail Road Station. The man followed the victim for several blocks before assaulting her at Hiddink Street and Lincoln Avenue at approximately 12:20 a.m.

The woman observed the suspect prior to the incident at the Bay Shore Rail Road Station. He was possibly heading to the Mastic/Shirley area. The man is described as black, 5 feet 8 inches tall with an average build, possibly in his 20s. He was wearing a grey beanie with a neon green ring around the top, a dark jacket and grey sweat pants.

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
