Miller Place, NY - March 17, 2015 - On March 12, Legislator Sarah Anker attended the “Stomp Out Cancer” benefit concert on March 12 at Miller Place High School. Mike DelGuidice of Big Shot and Billy Joel Band performed to a packed auditorium in an effort to raise money for Miller Place second grader Kyle Martin, who is currently battling cancer.

“The Miller Place Teachers' Association wishes to thank Legislator Anker for her support in our fundraising efforts for our second grade student Kyle Martin,” said Nancy Sanders, President of the Miller Place PTO. “The event was a huge success and definitely a very uplifting night for all those present. The Miller Place/Sound Beach community and the Port Jefferson School District wrapped this family in their warmth and completely took care of them. Mike DelGuidice of Big Shot and Billy Joel Band fame, a talented, selfless, musician and resident went above and beyond to make sure that each and every aspect of the evening went off without a hitch.  His generosity and concern for this family were more than evident throughout-from planning to conclusion.  He is an amazing individual.”

“It’s incredibly heartwarming to see the community come together to help those in need,” said Legislator Anker. “I want to thank Mike DelGuidice for his awe-inspiring performance, and I’d like to thank the Miller Place PTO for facilitating a great concert for a great cause.”
