Man Killed After Suffering Medical Event in Vehicle and Crashing into Tree

Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which a man suffered an apparent medical event, crashed his car into a tree and died earlier this afternoon.

Huntington, NY - March 14, 2017 - Second Squad detectives are investigating an incident during which a man suffered an apparent medical event, crashed his car into a tree and died earlier this afternoon.

Robert Manigaulte was driving a white 2005 Chrysler Town and Country southbound on Woodbury Road, south of Carley Avenue when he apparently suffered a medical event, crossed to the opposite side of the road and struck a tree.

Manigaulte, 59, of Huntington Station, was transported by Huntington Community First Aid Squad to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing.
