Though the first days of spring are only days away, the winter is clearly showing that Long Islanders still have to deal with frigid temperatures and a bit of snowfall.  Though Winter Storm Stella's Blizzard Warning cancelled for Long Island and New York City, towns in the area have seen some accumulation building since this morning.

Local schools, which saw the dangers associated with significant snowfall and strong gusts of winds, have closed for the day in order to keep children safe and the roads clear for plows and emergency vehicles.

Due to the westward shift of the storm, Nassau County has received more snow than Suffolk County, albeit still far less than initial forecasts. Floral Park has ranked at the highest on Long Island wih 5.0 inches. For Suffolk County, Selden's 3.5 inches puts it at the top of the minimal accumulation numbers.

New York City has seen a bit more snow overall with up to 7.0 inches in Queens, 6.0 inches in the Bronx, and 4.0 inches in Central Park.
