LIRR Offering Discount Packages to GLBT Expo

Long Island, NY - March 12, 2014 - The Long Island Rail Road is offering discount rail and admission packages to the upcoming GLBT Expo at the Jacob Javits Convention Center with a savings of up to 39% for customers.

The two-day extravaganza, now in its 21st year, is the oldest and largest consumer/business event in the United States with over 20,000 attendees each year from the GLBT Community. The show floor is filled with hundreds of exhibits in a variety of industries.

For foodies – this year’s show will feature New York's Top Gay Chef Contest as well as the Gay Professionals "Meet & Greet" Wine Tasting and Pairing event. This year’s Video Lounge features DJ Eddie Cruz and a Gay Film Festival with special guests. Attendees can also enjoy the popular, large-scale Wedding Pavilion. Other highlights include Psychic Mary Occhino and top entertainment from award-winning performers.

The discount package includes off-peak round-trip rail fare and an admission voucher to the expo. Adult fare is $26 Zones 1 – 10 and $37 for Zones 12 -14. LIRR monthly/weekly ticket holders who wish to purchase only the GLBT Expo admission ticket will receive 20% off admission when showing their rail ticket at the GLBT Box Office.

Getting There

Jacob Javits Convention Center is located on Eleventh Avenue between 34th and 40th Streets. Customers can walk from Penn Station or take the M-34 bus on West 34th Street and 7th Avenue.
