Northport, NY - March 9th, 2016 - It’s that time of the year when friends gather Saturday, April 16th at St. Philip Neri Parish Center at 7:00 pm to enjoy an evening of fun, dancing, great food, raffles and door prizes. Their attendance at the Friends of the Farm Barn Dance helps the resident goats, sheep, chickens, Annabelle the Cow, Ezra, Onyx, etc. of the Lewis Oliver Farm stay safe, happy and healthy.

Throughout its one hundred year plus history, the Lewis Oliver Farm has been a focal point of the Northport Community. History abounds at this Farm and visitors from near and far continue to enjoy visiting the resident animals and sharing in this precious Long Island jewel.

Meet some of the residents of Lewis Oliver Farm: Bitsie, Salt, Pepper, Shelia and Stewie!

New this year, dance to the great sounds of JUST CAUSE. This talented group of local business people started playing music for events that support charitable good causes as a way to give back to the Long Island Community. And look what happened! They have become a bona fide rock band that has headlined in The Paramount! We’re sure for this event they will be performing some great country classics too!

Take a few chances on wonderful raffle prizes and enjoy delicacies from local restaurants including Maroni’s of Northport, Aunt Chilada’s, Three Amigo’s, Deli 51 Greenlawn, Batata Café and Copenhagen Bakery. Beer, wine, coffee and dessert are included in the ticket price of ONLY $50.00 each ($60.00 at the door). To enhance your beverage of choice, a complimentary etched wine glass or beer mug will be distributed to use that evening and bring home as a keepsake of the Dance.

NEW THIS YEAR ... The Friends of the Farm are partnering with Rock CAN Roll Inc., a volunteer 501c3 nonprofit hunger relief organization whose mission is to stock the shelves of emergency food agencies with HEALTHY nonperishables (for people & pets) and basic necessities. For info: www.rockCANroll.org. PLEASE BRING TO THE DANCE A NONPERISHABLE ITEM (either for people or pets). If you can’t make the dance, drop off donations at the Farm. Donations will be accepted through April 16th.

This is the Friends of the Farm main fundraising event. They are a not-for-profit volunteer group in which 100% of donations and proceeds go towards the feeding and care of the animals and preserving the Farm. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Dust off your boots, reshape that cowboy hat, call some friends and reserve tickets for the dance. Tickets sell fast so don’t miss out. For tickets or additional information, please call Lynn at 757-9626 or leave a message at the Farm at 631-261-6320 and one of our dedicated volunteers will get back to you!
