Queens Man Arrested for Car Robberies in Nassau County

The accused has been charged with numerous counts of grand larceny and auto stripping.

Nassau County, NY - March 1, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Queens man for Grand Larceny on February 28, 2014 at 2:45 P.M.
 
According to detectives, between June 21, 2013 and February 24, 2014 Dorient G. Reid, 33, of 129-31 153rd Street, Jamaica damaged numerous vehicles and their exhaust systems by removing in excess of 35 catalytic converters from the vehicles.  These crimes occurred in several communities throughout Nassau County in parking lots including but not limited to body shops and U-haul truck parking.  He was placed under arrest at his home without incident. 
 
Reid is charged with four counts of Auto Stripping 1st degree, five counts of Grand Larceny 3rd degree, five counts of Auto Stripping 2nd degree, nine counts of Grand Larceny 4th degree and five counts of Auto Stripping 3rd degree.  He is scheduled to be arraigned on Saturday, March 01, 2014 at First District Court in Hempstead.
