Legislator Hahn: Vending More Nutritious Food Options in Suffolk

Hauppauge, NY - February 27, 2014 - Registered dietician Iman Marghoob of Stony Brook University’s Department of Family Medicine will testify today in support of nutritional standards being proposed by Legislator Kara Hahn (D‐Setauket) for concession stands and vending machines within all County owned facilities. Introductory Resolution 1096‐2014, currently being considered by the Legislature’s Health Committee, seeks to provide consumers with additional, healthier food options at County parks and buildings. The first public hearing on this bill is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4th at 2:30 PM in Riverhead.
