Patchogue, NY - February 24, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Fifth Squad detectives are investigating a single-car crash that killed a Patchogue man last night.
Kelly Charles was driving a 2013 Nissan Altima southbound on Waverly Avenue near West 2nd Street in Patchogue at 10:18 p.m. when his vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree.
Charles, 49, of River Avenue, was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue where he was pronounced dead.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety check and the investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Fifth Squad at 631-854-8552
