Long Beach Man Arrested for Attempted Robbery in N. Long Beach

North Long Beach, NY - February 24th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Long Beach man for a Robbery that occurred in North Long Beach on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 9:38 pm.

According to detectives, the defendant Kyle P. Mclaughlin, 27, of 5 Curley Street entered the Petro Gas Station located at 4305 Austin Boulevard in an intoxicated condition. The defendant pulled up his shirt as if he had a weapon and demanded cash and beer from the 33 year old male sales clerk. The victim fearful pushed Mclaughlin to the ground at which time he got up and fled on foot out of the store. Responding Fourth Precinct Police Officers observed the defendant walking on Austin Boulevard and placed him into police custody without incident. There were no proceeds recovered. There were no injuries reported.

Kyle P. Mclaughlin is charged with Robbery 3rd Degree ( Attempt ). He will be arraigned on Monday, February 24, 2014 in First District Court in Hempstead.
