“Cupcakes 4 A Cause” Generates Sweet Results

Written by Long Island News & PR  |  24. February 2014

Smithtown, NY - February 24, 2014 - East Islip Middle School student Evan Mauer, 13, made a donation to St. Catherine’s Women’s Health and Outpatient Diagnostic Pavilion to support breast health services. During the month of October, Evan was motivated to support breast cancer awareness—so he baked cupcakes and took a post outside the Great River Post Office for two Saturdays. He raised $818 from his efforts.

This is the second year that Evan has coordinated the “Cupcakes 4 A Cause” initiative. In 2012, he was inspired to participate in a worthy cause in preparation for his Bar Mitzvah. He enjoyed his experience so much that he wanted to do it again. “We are impressed with his efforts—and thankful for the donation, which will support the patients we serve,” stated radiologist Anne Green, MD.

St. Catherine’s Women’s Health and Outpatient Diagnostic Pavilion offers comprehensive breast health services in a private setting, and is a Breast imaging Center of Excellence, designated by the American College of Radiology.
