Medford Drunk Driver Hits Cop Car
Police have arrested 45-year-old Pandoria Jackson, who is facing a Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) charge along with other charges after allegedly fleeing police for miles and hitting two vehicles including a cop car on Friday night.

Jackson was pulled over in a Ford SUV in Medford near the intersection of Horseblock Road and Sills Road. She refused to roll down her window and then sped away when Officer Jaime Bustamante attempted to open her car door. Police pursued Jackson for a short time, and then followed at a safe distance.

She continued to flee along County Road 101 in Bellport before hitting a stop sign, a cop car and almost narrowly missing two officers on foot. The chase continued along 101 until Jackson hit a Jeep that was stopped at a red light. Police then arrested Jackson around 9:30 p.m. Jackson, the driver of the Jeep and two officers were treated for minor injuries after the incident. Nobody was seriously injured.

Jackson is being charged with a felony DWI, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, unlawfully fleeing a police officer in a motor vehicle and reckless driving. She was scheduled for arraignment at the First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday.

Once again we see the type of people that local dive bars attract. These places should be shut down and banned from our communities.

How can anyone drink and drive today? Your life is ruined from just one night of going out and then getting behind the wheel of a car. How stupid are these people?

I think it is a little harsh to categorize one group of people just because they go to a bar. Sure, there is a lot of violence in these types of places, but they shouldn't be banned. That is a little too republican don't you think?

A friend of mine was arrested three years ago for drunk driving. It completely ruined his life and he is still trying to pick up the pieces. I get so disgusted with people that think that they can just do whatever they want. This woman should be made an example of and thrown into jail, never get her license back, and pay for all damages. Someone could have been killed.

Just another example of stupid people doing stupid things. It doesn't matter if they are in a bar, or driving drunk, they are going to do stupid things regardless.

@Carolyn I don't think Delores is being too harsh. It is what it is. Have you ever driven by one of these bars and ever said, "That looks like a nice place?" Probably not.

They are dangerous and this is the type of activity that happens. People need to start understanding these things rather than worrying about stereotypes.

how in the world do these people even make it past 16? how stupid do you have to be to drive drunk?
