New York, NY - February 14th, 2014 - With the kids home from school during their annual winter break, MTA Long Island Rail Road is ready to transport you and your family on a fun-filled excursion to “Kids Week 2014” at the famed Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum beginning Saturday, February 15 and running through Sunday, February 23. Yes, come in from the cold and get in on some unforgettable, educational family fun. Participate in hands-on activities, including performances, games, cool demonstrations and much more.
 
Oh! And did we mention the LIRR discount travel package that offers up to 36% in savings on combined cost of regular off-peak, round-trip rail fare and admission to the museum? The cost of the special package is $39 (vs. $54 regularly) for adults traveling from Zones 1-10 and $50 (vs. $68.50 regularly) for those traveling from Zones 12-14. The round-trip/admission price for children ages 5-11 regardless of your home station is $22 (vs. $24). 
 
The USS Intrepid, one of the nation’s most famous aircraft carriers (best known for World War II and Vietnam War service as well as a primary recovery vessel for the NASA space program) is now a national historic landmark and one of New York City’s biggest tourist attractions. And each day during Kids Week, youngsters will find something very special to see and do aboard the sprawling ship located at the new park-like Pier 86 (12th Avenue & 46th Street) on the Hudson River.
