NCSPCA to offer a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) regarding the recently abandoned male Yorkie mix that was discovered in Plainview, NY by a jogger.

Plainview, NY - February 13, 2017 - Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino will host Gary Rogers of the Nassau County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals at the Town's Animal Shelter at 3:30 p.m. today Monday, February 13th.  The Nassau County SPCA will announce a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) regarding the recently abandoned male Yorkie mix that was discovered in Plainview, NY by a jogger.  "Steve" as the Animal Shelter staff have affectionately dubbed him, was found abandoned in a Sherpa bag on Washington Ave in Plainview on Tuesday night prior to the most recent snow storm.

Physically, Steve is fine, well-fed and groomed, and shows no signs of neglect or abuse, but Town Supervisor Saladino and the Nassau County SPCA, believe it is still important to locate the person(s) who abandoned Steve and hold them accountable for their actions.  In the meantime, Steve will remain at the Town's Animal Shelter, and if no one comes to claim him within 7 days, he will be put up for adoption.
