NCPD Arrest Two Men in Hempstead for Attempted Murder, Tampering with Evidence

Hempstead, NY - February 10th, 2014 - The Third Squad reports the details of two arrests for Attempted Murder that occurred on February 8, 2014 at 4:45 AM in Hempstead.

According to detectives, a 24 year old male victim was attending a party at 38 Linden Place when he had a verbal altercation with two men; defendants Oneil Meade, 28, and Clive Meade, 41, both of 38 Linden Place.  The argument escalated and the three men walked outside.  Defendant Oneil Meade displayed a silver handgun and shot the victim in the neck.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.  Hempstead Police, Bureau of Special Operations, Emergency Services Unit and the Third Precinct responded to the scene.  After an investigation the defendants were placed under arrested inside the above location.  A Walther PPKS 9mm was recovered at the scene.

Oneil Meade is being charged with Attempted Murder 2nd Degree, Assault 1st Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree. Clive Meade is being charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence.  They will be arraigned on February 9, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.
