Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Middle Island Hit-and-Run Crash

Middle Island, NY - February 6, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are investigating a hit-and-run crash that seriously injured a pedestrian in Middle Island early this morning.
 
Lisa Andronica was walking southbound on Wilson Avenue when she was struck by box truck traveling southbound on Wilson Avenue at 3:10 a.m. The vehicle, which was described as dark-colored, fled the scene.
 
Andronica, 22, of Summerfield Drive, Holtsville, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was listed in serious condition.
 
The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
