The combination of low relative humidity levels and increasing northerly flow today will result in conditions favorable for the rapid spread of brush fires. Relative humidities will be lowest this afternoon...dropping into the 20s across the area. Winds will be light this morning... increasing this afternoon to 10 to 15 mph with 20 to 25 mph gusts. The risk will diminish by this evening as relative humidities increase and the winds begin to diminish. Hate Crimes Unit Seeking Person Responsible for Graffiti in Dix Hills

Three road signs in Dix Hills were sprayed with graffiti, and a swastika was painted on a garage door.

Dix Hills, NY - February 6, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Hate Crimes Unit detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the person or persons responsible for spray-painting graffiti in Dix Hills.
 
Graffiti was spray-painted on several road signs and a swastika was spray-painted on the garage door of a residence located at 111 Ryder Ave., Dix Hills, between February 3 at 6:30 p.m. and February 4, 2014 at 7 a.m.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
