Village of Hempstead Celebrates Salvadorian Culture

The Village of Hempstead recently joined more than 200 Long Islanders to celebrate Salvadorian culture at the Comite Civico Salvadoreno Inc.’s Annual Gala.

Hempstead, NY - February 1, 2017 - The Village of Hempstead recently joined more than 200 Long Islanders to celebrate Salvadorian culture at the Comite Civico Salvadoreno Inc.’s Annual Gala. Participating in the annual event is part of its commitment to promoting diversity within the Village. During the event, the Village recognized and thanked notable members of the Salvadorean community for their charitable efforts and community engagement. Community leaders were presented with Certificates of Recognition to honor their contributions to residents throughout the Village. Following the awards ceremony, guests enjoyed traditional Salvadorian musical and dance demonstrations.

More than 200 Long Islanders came to celebrate Salvadorian-American culture and diversity, enjoying the traditional music and food throughout the night.

Comite Civico Salvadoreno Inc is a non-profit organization based in Hempstead, New York. The organization’s mission is organizing charity and good will efforts to assist communities in El Salvador.
