NCPD Crime Update: Man Arrested for Hempstead Bank Robbery

Update - February 4th, 2014 - The Robbery Squad and the Bureau of Special Operations report the arrest of Timothy Brown, 46, of 29 Laurel Avenue, Hempstead for the below crime. The defendant was arrested on February 4, 2014 on Madison Avenue, Hempstead without incident.  Timothy Brown is being charged with Robbery 3rd Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th and Violation of Parole.  He will be arraigned on February 5, 2014 at First District Court, Hempstead.

Hempstead, NY - January 30th, 2014 - The Robbery Squad is investigating a Robbery that occurred in Hempstead on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at 12:02 pm.

According to detectives, a male black described as being 55 years of age, salt/pepper goatee/mustache, entered the Wells Fargo bank located  at 145 Fulton Avenue and demanded cash from the 25 year old female teller. He stated he had a gun but never displayed one. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of US currency the subject fled on foot north on Hilton Avenue. There were 8 customers and 5 employees in the bank. There were no injuries reported.
