As January quickly turns into February, New Year work out resolutions should be far underway! But there is nothing that will motivate you to drop the few extra pounds then either your wedding or an upcoming wedding where you will be a part of the wedding party, anything that involves a dress! Getting into shape can be very simple when you put your mind to it and not over think it. Using the simplest and most natural forms of dieting and working out you can make sure you look your best on the big day!

The first thing that people look to do when losing weight is of course to diet. The first and most obvious tip would be to drink more water. Cutting out caffeine and other high calorie drinks from your diet will help you tremendously when you get on the scale. Substituting fruits and vegetables for chips and other high sugar and fatty foods is a no brainer. Using dips like guacamole and hummus will help bulk up those vegetable snacks! Sticking a plan of including a protein, vegetable, and starch in every meal will also lead to great weight loss results. When it comes to dieting the most important thing to remember is not to crash diet. Not only are crash diets only effective in shedding retained water weight and even muscle, they are dangerous. The FDA says that there are up to 60 deaths a year associated with crash diets, not something you want to be a part of!

A lot of women feel uncomfortable going to the gym simply because they are intimidated. Gyms are filled with not only men, who are taking up all the weight lifting machines, but also gym regulars who you feel might be judging you. To get around this you can either realize that no one is judging you even if you are not in tip top shapes, if anything your peers will be respecting you for taking control of your body and getting healthy, or you can go to a more lady friendly gym. There are plenty of gyms such as Lucille Roberts or Curves that are just for women so there’s no need to be self-conscious.

If the gym is not your cup of tea then there are tons of other ways to get in shape. Taking a jog around your neighborhood or purchasing a piece of gym equipment for your home can be a great way to lose weight. Running is definitely one of the most effective ways to get in shape and build muscle. Running can help tone up the whole lower half of your body and even your arms. Also doing at home exercises like yoga, or Pilates are awesome alternatives. The most important thing to remember is that your fiancé is marrying you because he or she loves who you are! If you are going to lose the weight then do it for yourself.
