Two Men Arrested for Stealing Rims and Tires during the Blizzard

North Babylon, NY - January 23, 2016 - Suffolk County Police today arrested two men for stealing rims and tires in front of a North Babylon home this morning at the start of the blizzard.

First Precinct Patrol officers responded to a 911 call from a neighbor who was witnessing three men stealing rims and tires from a 2015 Toyota Corolla in front of 26 Victoria Rd. at approximately 2:30 a.m. Police Officer Ronald Treanor interrupted the theft in progress and immediately took two men into custody. The third man fled on foot.

Diego Adames, 20, of North Amityville, and Dennis Granados, 25, of Copaigue, were arrested and charged with Attempted Grand Larceny. They are being held at the First Precinct and will be arraigned on Sunday January 24 at First District Court in Central Islip.

The investigation is continuing. Detectives are asking anyone with information to contact the First Squad at 631-852-8152 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

A criminal charge is an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
