Baldwin, NY - January 24th, 2014 - The First Squad reports the arrest of two men for Robberies which occurred on November 25, 2013 in Baldwin.

According to detectives, a male victim, 19 years of age,  was walking on Cramer Court when he was approached by two male subjects who had exited a light colored Nissan Altima. The victim ran towards Coes Neck Road where the subjects grabbed him and went through his pockets. Both subjects displayed handguns as they removed the victims’ cell phone, keys, wallet and backpack and then fled in the vehicle.  At 9:49 p.m. a First Precinct Sergeant while on patrol observed the defendant Thomas J. White, 21 of 3194 Neptune Avenue, Oceanside operating a 2000 Grey Nissan Altima. White proceeded through  a red light on Grand Avenue. The Sergeant conducted a Vehicle and Traffic stop and requested assistance from First Precinct Officers. During the investigation an officer observed a backpack and wallet in the vehicle. It was determined they were the proceeds from the earlier robbery. White was placed under arrest without incident.  During this time the officers were alerted to a report of a Burglary on Coes Neck Road that occurred at 10:05 p.m. which involved the description of the Nissan Altima White was driving. The subsequent investigation revealed that a female victim, 50 years of age, had returned to her Coes Neck home and observed a Nissan Altima pulling away from in front of her house. When she entered her home she was accosted by  two subjects, Randy Oden, 28 of 800 Dean Drive, Baldwin  and an additional subject not yet under arrest. After tying her up with a scarf they removed the victim’s watch, cell phone, and unknown amount of U.S. currency and then fled in the victim’s 2012 Lexus. She was able to free herself and notified police. No injuries were reported in either incident.

White was charged with two counts of Robbery 1st degree, Burglary 1st degree and Criminal Possession of Stole Property in the 5th degree. He was arraigned on November 26, 2013 at First District Court in Hempstead.
