Nassau County PD: Baldwin Man Arrested for Stealing Prescriptions

Baldwin, NY - January 24th, 2014 - The Narcotics Bureau reports the arrest of a Baldwin man at 11:15am on January 23, 2014.

According to Detectives, Hamid Babar, 48, of 982 Ocean Avenue did on two separate occasions present a prescription for Vicodin HP that was written, presented and filled without the permission of the owner.  On July 27, 2013 the defendant went to the Rockville Centre Pharmacy in Rockville Centre and on November 4, 2013 he went to the West Hempstead Pharmacy in West Hempstead.

The defendant was arrested at County Court in Mineola while he was there for an unrelated charge.  He is charged with two counts of Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and was arraigned in First District Court 99 Main Street Hempstead on January 23, 2014.
