Long Island State Parks are celebrating Black History Month through interactive programs.

Babylon, NY - January 22, 2016 - The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the Long Island State Park Region will be hosting two interactive programs as well as cultural displays in celebration of Black History Month.

February 7 - 1:00pm to 3:00pm
The Uganda Cultural Art Network presents an African cultural experience through interactive storytelling, music and dance.
Jones Beach State Park at the Theodore Roosevelt Nature Center, 516-780-3295

February 28 - 1:00pm-2:00pm
“Journey Into Africa” Experience traditional rhythms, songs, instruments and dances of African life during a performance by the Okra Dance Company.
Nissequogue River State Park at the Administration Building, 631-269-4927
