Bronx...Kings (Brooklyn)...New York (Manhattan)...northeastern Suffolk...northern Nassau...northern Queens...northern Westchester...northwestern Suffolk...Orange...Putnam... Richmond (staten island)...Rockland...southeastern Suffolk... southern Nassau...southern Queens...southern Westchester and southwestern Suffolk. * From 8 PM EDT this evening through Friday afternoon * showers and thunderstorms will be moving into the region from the west early this evening and will overspread the region by late tonight. Showers and thunderstorms will continue into Friday morning and begin to taper off from west to east during Friday afternoon. There is the potential for periods of heavy rainfall this evening into Friday afternoon. * The axis of heaviest rain remains uncertain. However...at this time the heaviest rain is forecast to extend from northeastern New Jersey into the lower Hudson Valley...New York City...and southern Connecticut. Rainfall totals of 2 to 4 inches are possible...with localized higher amounts possible. The main threat is flash flooding of low lying...poor drainage...and urbanized areas. SCPD Crime Alert: Man Wanted for Stealing Credit Cards Out of Parked Car

Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used stolen credit cards at multiple locations last year.

Rocky Point, NY - January 22nd, 2014 - Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and Suffolk County Police Sixth Squad detectives are seeking the public’s help to identify and locate the man who used stolen credit cards at multiple locations last year.
 
A purse containing credit cards was stolen from a 2005 Jeep Liberty that was parked at Island Hill Stables, located at 25 Rocky Point Road, Middle Island, on June 30, 2013. A male used the credit cards at multiple locations including GameStop, located at 346 Route 25A, Rocky Point, and Ocean 5 Seafood, located at 99 Route 25A, Shoreham, the same day.
 
The man was wearing a shirt with dark- and light-colored horizontal stripes with a dark-colored, three-quarter length jacket and a red or maroon baseball hat.
 
Suffolk County Crime Stoppers offers a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest. Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
