"Blizzard Watch" ...Blizzard watch in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening... The National Weather Service in New York has issued a blizzard watch...which is in effect from Monday afternoon through Tuesday evening. * Locations...portions of southern Connecticut and Long Island. * Hazard types...heavy snow and blowing snow. * Accumulations...snow accumulation of 12 to 18 inches. * Winds...north 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * Visibilities...one quarter mile or less at times. * Timing...heaviest snow and strongest winds will occur overnight Monday into Tuesday. * Impacts...extremely dangerous travel due to heavy snowfall and strong winds with whiteout conditions likely. Secondary and tertiary roads may become impassable. Strong winds may down power lines and tree limbs. Precautionary/preparedness actions... A blizzard watch means there is a potential for falling and/or blowing snow with strong winds and extremely poor visibilities. NCPD: Information Wanted in Aggravated Harassment

Anti-Semitic statements have been written on numerous signs across Cedarhurst and Lawrence.

Cedarhurst, NY - January 22, 2014 - Crime Stoppers, the Nassau County Police Department, and the MTA Police Department are seeking the public’s help in locating, and identifying the person(s) responsible for Aggravated Harassment that has been occurring in Cedarhurst, and Lawrence, NY. 
 
Since February of 2013, unknown person(s) have written anti-Semitic statements on numerous advertisement signs located on the train platform levels of the Cedarhurst, and Lawrence LIRR Train Stations causing damage to the property. 
 
Crime Stoppers is asking anyone who can identify the person(s) responsible, or anyone with any information about this crime to call our toll free hotline:  1-800-244-TIPS (8477), or contact the MTA Police Detective Division District # 2 directly at 516-222-6501. Refer to MTA PD case # 13-14636.
