Smithtown, NY - January 12, 2016 - Suffolk County Legislator Robert Trotta recognized James Kloos of Boy Scout Troop 75 for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout at his recent Court of Honor at St. Joseph’s Church in Kings Park. For his Eagle Scout project, James, while supervising other scouts, demolished and built a new safe and sturdy goat pen at Sweetbriar Nature Center in Smithtown. Through a car wash he raised the necessary funds to purchase the supplies and materials.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing the Kloos family for a long time. This is a very proud moment for James, his parents and family, as well as his troop leaders and fellow scouts. This award is something he will have for the rest of his life and he obtained it while still a teenager. His accomplishment has set a high standard for commitment and dedication, which I hope will inspire the youth of our great County of Suffolk,” said Legislator Robert Trotta.

Legislator Robert Trotta represents the 13th Legislative District, which includes Smithtown, Fort Salonga, Kings Park, San Remo, Nissequogue, Head of the Harbor, and St. James, as well as most of East Northport and parts of Northport and Commack.

Legislator Trotta serves on the Legislature’s Budget & Finance, Education & Information Technology, Health, Human Services, and Ways & Means Committees.
