Update: January 21st, 2014 - First Squad detectives report the arrest of William Wilkinson, 22, of 101 Ruxton Street, Uniondale in connection with the above incident.
 
Wilkinson is charged with Attempted Robbery 1st Degree, Attempted Robbery 2nd Degree and Attempted Assault 1st Degree. He will be arraigned in First District Court, Hempstead on 01/21/2014.

Uniondale, NY - January 12, 2014 - The First Squad is investigating an Attempted Robbery that occurred in Uniondale on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:48 P.M.
 
According to detectives, a 21 year old male was walking on Ruxton Street in the vicinity of Gerald Street when he observed a gray Chevrolet (possibly an Impala) occupied by a unknown male black subject. The subject exited the vehicle and told the victim to come over. Fearing for his safety the victim stated he had no property with him. The subject then displayed a silver handgun and struck the victim in the face. The victim ran and the subject fired several shots. The vehicle fled the scene eastbound on Ruxton Street. There were no proceeds and no injuries reported. The subject is further described as 20 to 24 years old, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, khaki pants and blue New York Yankees cap.
