Long Island, NY - January 10, 2014 - Both the Nassau and Suffolk police departments warned residents to be careful while driving today.

"While all roads are passable, icy road conditions are causing minor accidents and spin outs. Motorists are advised to reduce speed, leave ample room between themselves and the vehicles in front of them and give themselves extra time for their commute," the NCPD said in a statement to the press.

“The Suffolk County Police Department is advising motorists to use extreme caution when driving on roadways in Suffolk County. The roadways are icy and considered hazardous,” the SCPD added.
