Sag Harbor, NY - January 9th, 2014 - Bay Street Theatre is pleased to announce its upcoming February School Vacation Kids Camp, February 17-21. The camp is for ages 8 through 12, and runs from 9am – 3 pm each day at the Bay Street Theatre. Cost is $385 for the weeklong camp per child.

The camps will be led by Bethany Dellapolla, and include instruction in acting, singing, dance, performance & more. In addition, there are fun, creative theater games and improvs to help develop skills and to encourage students to stretch their abilities as young actors. Students will learn standard songs and choreography, and are also encouraged to create their own original work. The camp ends in a performance on Friday, at the theater for friends and family.

"Besides becoming a better theatre performer and storyteller,” says Dellapolla, “playing these games, doing these exercises, strengthens a child's innate creativity, problem solving skills, teamwork, and inner voice! By acting different characters and doing improvs, children gain insight into who they are, and see things more readily from the perspective of others. It's a really beautiful thing to see."

Bethany Dellapolla received her BA in both Theatre Performance and Radio/Television Production from SUNY New Paltz. She also graduated (with honors), from Long Island University with a Masters Degree in Childhood Education and teaches, choreographs, and directs various theatre camps, productions, and classes throughout the island and Manhattan. She is a proud member of the new SAG-AFTRA alliance! Regional and NYC Acting Credits include: THE GRADUATE (Elaine Robinson), THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE (Olive Ostrovsky), CABARET (Frenchie/Lady #2), THE LARAMIE PROJECT (Romaine, et al), COMPANY (Jenny), RUTHLESS! (Lita Encore), THE NEW WORLD (Featured Vocalist, NYC) and THE MISS FIRECRACKER CONTEST (Popeye, NYC).

Camp size is limited and always sells out. For payment and more information, please call Lorien at 631-725-0818 ext. 129. For more information about the camps or other programming at Bay Street Theatre, log on to www.baystreet.org.
