Air quality levels in outdoor air are predicted to be greater than an air quality index value of 100 for the pollutant of ground level ozone. The air quality index...or aqi...was created as an easy way to correlate levels of different pollutants to one scale. The higher the aqi value, the greater the health concern. When pollution levels are elevated...the New York state department of health recommends that individuals consider limiting strenuous outdoor physical activity to reduce the risk of adverse health effects. People who may be especially sensitive to the effects of elevated levels of pollutants include the very Young, and those with pre-existing respiratory problems such as asthma or heart disease. Those with symptoms should consider consulting their personal physician. A toll free air quality hotline has been established so New York residents can stay informed on the air quality situation. Malverne Woman Arrested for Assaulting Nassau County Police Officer

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Malverne woman for Assault on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:15 in Malverne.

Malverne, NY - January 7th, 2014 - The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Malverne woman for Assault on Monday, January 6, 2014 at 10:15 in Malverne.

According to detectives, a Fourth Precinct Police Officer responded to the Malverne Police Department so she could assist and search the defendant Elissa L. Stallkamp, 36, of 89 Horton Avenue. The defendant was arrested for being Intoxicated which violated a Family Court Order. During the search the defendant punched the officer numerous times in the face causing facial injuries. The officer was transported by a Nassau County Ambulance to a local hospital for treatment and released.

Elissa L. Stallkamp is charged with Assault 2nd Degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration 2nd Degree, and Criminal Contempt 2nd Degree. She will be arraigned on Tuesday, January 07, 2014 at the First District Court in Hempstead.
