Bay Shore, NY - January 7th, 2014 - Join the husband and wife author team of Matt Pasca and Terri Muuss for a poetry workshop presented by LIAWS (Long Island Authors and Writers Society) on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at 7 PM.

The event offers an evening of creativity and inspiration. Workshop participants will examine essential poetic elements (e.g., line and stanza breaks, figurative language, specificity and rhythm) and compose poetry of their own. Pasca and Muuss, who will also read from their books A Thousand Doors and Over Exposed, respectively, are both Pushcart-nominated poets who teach writing workshops and perform frequently around the tri-state area.

About Matt Pasca
A 2003 New York State Teacher of Excellence, Matt Pasca's poetry has appeared in 12 journals, including The Paterson Literary Review, Georgetown Review, and English Journal, as well as seven print anthologies. Pasca's first book, A Thousand Doors, was nominated for the 2012 Pushcart Prize in Poetry and his poem "Receiving Line" won the 2012 Great Neck Poetry Prize. About Terri Muuss
Terri is a writer and performer whose one-woman show Anatomy of a Doll was named "Best Theatre: Critics' Pick of the Week" by The Daily News and has been performed throughout the US and Canada since 1998. Her poetry has appeared in Bolts of Silk, Apercus Quarterly, Long Island Quarterly, Red River Review, and Whispers and Shouts and her poem Rialto Beach won the 2013 Great Neck Poetry Prize. As a licensed social worker, Muuss specializes in using arts as a healing mechanism for trauma survivors and teaches a course at Rutgers entitled Youth Development Through the Written Arts.
