The Old Village Museum and Historical Society is an authentic depot and freight house located in Lindenhurst built in 1901 and taken out of service in 1973 when the Long Island Rail Road elevated the tracks in the area. It is credited as Long Island's first railroad museum with many artifacts of the area and has plans of displaying passenger car and caboose, painted to replicate the look of previous eras.
