Located in Long Island’s picturesque Village of Head of the Harbor, Harbor Country Day School is an independent, co-educational day school for children from preschool through 8th grade. Since the school’s founding in 1958, we have been providing Long Island’s children with challenging, child-centered, incomparable educational experiences that prepare all of our graduates to lead fulfilling lives filled with wonder, confidence, and many successes.

Everything we do at Harbor is underscored by children’s innate desire to explore, discover, create, and engage with the world around them. We believe in a “whole-child” approach to education, wherein our rigorous curriculum is supported by activities that develop all aspects of a child’s personality. Science and math enrichment, foreign languages, robotics and technology, multimedia arts, music, physical education, competitive sports teams. These are just a few of the ways we encourage our students to embrace and develop their unique interests and talents. And as a result, our graduates excel as they continue their academic journeys within any of our area’s outstanding secondary schools and beyond.

Highly trained faculty, small class sizes, a diverse student body, a broad curriculum, and longstanding ties to our community ensure that Harbor Country Day School will provide your child with the most stimulating, well-rounded education available anywhere on Long Island.
